Course 10: Reflections on communication…
Communication is, according to the Webster’s Dictionary, “the imparting or exchanging of information or news” or “the successful conveying or sharing of ideas.” We, as humans, are in constant need of communication with one another, we are social beings who cannot be isolated from the rest of the world.
In today’s global society, communication is more present than ever. We see it everywhere; from transportation to technology gadgets, from fashion to body language, communication is everywhere. It sure has great advantages! But it also has great downfalls…

One of the advantages of communication is that we can communicate with the rest of the world with just one click. Examples includes the internet (the internet are pages as “twitter” “blogs” “facebook” “messenger ” etc.)

the problem with that is when you start to used you cannot release, because becomes a necessity of life such as cel phon and Internet.

i am not agree with carolina.
i think that you can use the pages of internet, but properly, you cannot depend of these. if you do this, you are going to lose all your social life.

I think that we can have control of ourself…there isnot problem if you know to use the social red, technology…etc…the problem is when you became addicted to something…

Carolina is right, but we become dependent on a cell phone or a website, if we are desperate to find a friendship, learn something new, or in the case of facebook, learn everything others do or say.
If one of us feels the need to be connected online for any reason, no one can prevent, but you can tell him/she to do so carefully and taking into account the problems this brings, such as addiction.

Yes,but i think that communication has many advantages because whit it we know people, cultures, music, news, technology, history and another information that help us to extend our knowledge about the world.
Is a great downfall when we used it for bad things like porn , extortion, illegal trade, kidnapping……………

I think the internet is not necessary in the life because when the internet didn´t exist how did people communicate with the others? and if the people in the past didn´t use it why we need it in our life?
the internet is very important way to communicate but it isn´t all. the best way to cammunicate is face to face

We know the “communications” are the most important thing nowadays, but if the people doesn’t know what’s that, they won’t know how to use that…The misuse of communications can be a big trouble. The communications are the links of everything, the ideas, reasons, objects, and more thigs we don’t know yet. The communications are the way of the expressions…
For example. If we build a schedule, maybe an 80% is related of communications. The misuse of Facebook, for exaple, can change our life in a negative way.
Addictions, problems at school, attention deficits are in many cases as result of the misuse of communications…

i think that there is a lot of geeks out there all over the world that dont have social life, for example they never hang out with friends, rarely they touch somebody but they are not alone all the time, because most of them have been playing online games in the internet and they can talk with some people that are playing the same game but those persons are ciber friends that they will never met with…. so I agree with all of you but those nerds are having touch with other nerds because they also need to talk to real persons even if they havent seen each other.

I don’t agre with some of you, but… part of communication is to listen each other.. Nobody think is the same way, and that’s how we learn to communicate with other people.
I think internet is such an advance, we can use something we probable know but the problem is that we don’t know if we know it enough to use it in a good way.
Juan Pablo said that the internet is completly unuseful because the old people didn’t had internet, well it is not about old people. We are in other times and we have learn how to communicate when the other person we want to talk is so far away, and is different if the person we want to talk is just infront of my house, that what we call “addicted” because that person is ommiting a conversation face to face because that person doesn’t want to leave the house because of the internet…

I agree with Paulina but I also think that the mass media is a problem of the young people because we only think about Facebook twitter or any of the other links that may comunicare each other, but thinking on the other side the develpment of the comunication is the best thing that is happening in the world.

Well. I dont agree with Juan Pablo, because the ages are comming and we need to evolve. Actually, many things are doing with the internet, and many people considerate that it is as important as breath.

ok, im not totally agree with sebastian but i am agree with him when he say that some people dont want to go to talk to his friend in the next door maybe because they are too lazy or maybe because they are a little unsocial persons….but some people for example like me, i`m not a person that is always on the internet waiting for someone to talk with all the day, prefer to talk to them to ask if they want to hang out somewhere and have fun face to face…..not online games fun.

I disagree with juan pablo because he said that the comunication in the past was great but seriously the comunication in the past was bad and it also was inefficient because the people in the past only can comunicate by the letters and nowadays people comunicate by skype, mail, facebook, twitter and those links.
I also think that if we have a efective comunication we can evade wars

one of the disadvantages of the internet, is that when we become “addict”, we start to lose contact withe the real world.
We can not survive with out other people, the human being was create to interact with the others. If you want to lose your real friends, become an addict; but if you want to be a outgoing person, plese start to know how to use Facebook, twitter, messenger, etc. You still have time to change.

And I also think, we don’t need to be ignorants, just to know we are people that have been so creative and people that are progressing with our way to live our life…
We are making sure other future that could be more confortable than this one (I am not saying we are going to be the onece that WILL destroy our world, I’m saying, we are doing it right now… but if we keep progressing with communication and tecnology, we will get better that we are right now… I mean, we cannot stop now, we have to keep trying…)

i think that everything has its advantages and disavantages and all is related with comunication. comunicacion and gadgets and that things has problems because someones use it for bad things like investigate all the persons life and that information like in some cases sell it to other people or make them sufer…etc,but everybody that we need it, and also we know that some persons use it just for been in toch with the family,friends and stuff. “everybody has their way to see the world,and evrybody has to respect it if you like it or NO”

well the article is so true but the main idea is that the humans can’t live without communications because they feel lonely and the people need to listen to another person, and I agree with juan pablo if the past people didn’t need internet and that stuff in the present if the internet shut down and cellphones too, I think the society may go down because today everybody needs the tecnology to communicate and we depend of that

i’m agree with pablo J, because we made the tecnology necessary to talk with somebody, you always need see what the otre people made in facebook, you just call your friends by cel phon, and all the time you need to be talking with someome because if you didn’t tolk with anyone you feel so sad and tried to tolk with somebody using other things. for example: facebook, msn, games online. now we have the necessity to be in contact with someone it doesn’t matter who

the internet is very important as a tool but as a way to communication in some cases it should be too bad to the people because it turns you addicted to that and for example in facebook you talk with people who you don`t know and he may be a murder or something bad.

discussion is interesting, I think communication is inherent in human beings, by nature we need to communicate and be in constant contact with the other and even more if we are part of a community, it is true that today things have changed much, everything is going and of course communication is not left behind, there are many valid media all and better than others but Peinsa everything is in managing each of them is true k many ulterior motives and are brought misused, but what is important is the know they use.

the problem is when we become addicted to it .many of you have put the facebook like example this is true….the facebook is really fun and useful but people start to depend on it to talk with friends…to be fun…to find out of everything in the social live…but we start to don´t have social live…

The communication is one of the things most important for the people,because with this we can develop our knowledge and interface with other people.
The use of the different mass media depends on us and on ben being used of the way mas adapted this way to be able to obtain his better advantages.

I agree with mario, yes There are social networks…is good but the students and many persons talking to people that doesnt know and is dangerous…..
in the family have communication but in others not good because they doesnt talk and all the time they shouting and is not good…

I agree with you. The communication is present everywhere. If you ask me nowadays all people in the word need to be informed about all the things that happen with our friends, around us, in our country, around the world.
For these needs some people had created means to make the communication between us easier like messenger, facebook, twitter, blogs, the internet, the cell phone, etc.
But it also has great downfalls like many people have neglected their family or other important things sometimes due to always are paying attention to their phones or whatever…

I agree with you, in my opinion the internet is very important as a tool but as a way of communication in some cases it is too bad,to people because it turns you into addicts, to be all day in the computer or in their blackberry and this affects all our life
I agree with Dany, the communication is present everywhere, all the time; we need the communication always.

Until now the most of you has said that communication is important. But why is communication important?…well if you ask me…..i think that communication is important because is part of our lifes, we use it every day ( we eat, sleep and dream comunication).
Is important to know what the people feel or think, if you listen your friends or to your family, you will know the amazing things that they think of their life.
I think that the comunication is an awesome way to live.

If you ask me about the internet, I would say that it is not all, even though it is really important, because it has helped (for example) students to investigate their homework; the problem is that we haven’t learned how to use it, and it has become something negative in life…
…the communication isn’t only the internet…
The communication is really important in the family because we could have a good relationship with them…but in some case the young people are more interested in the internet or in friends that in their family and it has become in a social problem…
The society says that communication has advanced and has given us a better life…they are right, but it is true that it has changed people’s ideology and nowadays people can’t express face to face..

I think that the communication is the most important thing that we need to have a real life. because we need to be in constant contact with the people, we need to know what they feel and what they think.
Communication has different forms to present to the people for example by the internet, cell phones, phones, the mobility other means to be in contact with the others, news, newspaper and other means that are little taken into account. The transportation, this is a very important means to be in contact with persons of others places.
Communication provides many things to the life of the people but they don’t know how to take advantage of.

I agree with jonh because the principal objective of the communication is exchange information between people….but it could be a problem if you abuse of it
